Forage harvesters top of the Claas at Shrewsbury Plant and Machinery Sale
Two Claas forage harvesters sold for £83,000 and £59,000 at the successful April Shrewsbury Plant and Machinery Sale on Friday.
Halls Auctioneers reported a 76% clearance rate across the well-attended auction, which included machinery as well as workshop tools and sundries.
Buyers attending the auction competed with online bidders via the MartEye platform for the lots on offer.
Highlights were a 2015 Claas Jaguar 870 forage harvester with 3,500 engine hours which sold for £83,000 and a 2012 Claas Jaguar 950 forage harvester with 5,600 hours which sold for £59,000.
Top prices in the tractors section were £17,000 for a 2023 New Holland T4 55 2WD with 1,300 hours, £16,200 for a 1989 Ford 7810 4WD with 9,800 hours, £13,100 for a 1994 Massey Ferguson 3670 and £12,500 for a 1983 Ford 7710 4WD with 7,171 hours.
Other leading prices were £11,200 for a 2016 Abbey 3,000-gallon tanker, £10,000 each for a Pottinger HIT 8 x rota tedder and a 2014 Richard Weston 9.5 ton rear discharge muck spreader and £7,800 for a 2016 36m Chafer Sentry 2 G series trailed sprayer.
